Leakwise monitors hydrocarbons on water near tanks, sumps, and other points of potential oil leaks.

Oil on Water Leak Detection

Leakwise Oil-on-Water Detection and Monitoring Systems have many power industry applications, including:

Monitoring of Remote Transformer Substations

Leakwise monitors remote transformer substations to ensure that catastrophic failures, or sub-catastrophic leakage, is found before hydrocarbons have the opportunity to flow into storm water drainage systems. In some cases, the secondary containment around substation transformers is inadequate to deal with a large storm event and hydrocarbon leaks may find their way to nearby waterways causing environmental damage and an expensive liability.

Monitoring Sumps in Hydroelectric Power Plants

Leakwise monitors the sumps under hydroelectric power plants for leaks of lube oil from turbine bearings and other sources. It can alarm operators of any oil build-up, and can stop discharge pumps in the event of catastrophic leaks. Leakwise also detects hydrocarbon leaks into dam gates and rivers.

Oil Tank Dikes Monitoring

Leakwise can detect overfills and leaking pumps and pipes that could ultimately lead to product loss and fires.

Groundwater Monitoring

Leakwise detects oil spills from tank bottoms that leak into the groundwater, reducing groundwater contamination and preventing product loss and fire risks.

Boiler Condensate Monitoring

Leakwise may also be used to alert plant operators that a heat exchanger tube has a hole and hydrocarbons are crossing over to boiler water condensate. Water temperature must be less than 70 degrees Celsius at the monitoring point.
